A thankful heart is contagious! Gratitude takes effort! Canadians are spending this week prepping for Thanksgiving and setting aside time to celebrate. While this season is valuable I think there are practices to be incorporated year-round that just make life that much more beautiful.
1. Practice daily gratitude: Make a note, tell your loved ones, or capture your gratitude in a journal
2. Volunteer: Don’t wait for the holiday rush to give of your time. Help out by volunteering your time for a cause near and dear to your heart.
3. Gather your crew: Warm connections and good company are ways that you can encourage contagious gratitude. Get togethers with friends and family don’t need to be reserved for big holidays.
4. Random acts of kindness: Help out a neighbour, pay for a stranger’s coffee, donate to a charity. Keep that Thanksgiving spirit going all year.
5. Support Local: One way of appreciating your community is to frequent local shops and valuing businesses that are close to home.
6. Practice traditions: Whether it’s a walk with a friend, a recipe that you share, a movie enjoyed with family, or a specific destination – remembering your traditions adds value to each season.
By weaving these practices into your daily life, you can keep the spirit of Thanksgiving alive all year long, fostering a continuous sense of gratitude and connection.
