‘Tis the Season for Eggnog

Some of you have patiently waited all year for your Eggnog indulgence! Don’t disappoint or short yourself; take the plunge and dive deep. The month of December is devoted to celebrating this  festive beverage so why shouldn’t you? Of course, as always, TGD is here to gently nudge you in the right direction 😉

Eggnog is a fantastic base for experimentation, from all the spices you can think of to tequila, everything available can and will be added. The beauty of it lies in the fact that no matter how you chose to serve it, it will always be enjoyed.  Here are some additions that we think you might enjoy!

Amaro Liqueur – on the bitter side of things, adds an astounding depth of flavour!

Applejack Brandy – for the old souls and makes a lovely seasonal drink!

Bourbon (of course!)

Brandy - for those who like to KNOW that they are having a drink.......cheers!

Cognac – do you enjoy the flavour of nutmeg? Then this is your jam.

Frangelico – an Italian hazelnut liqueur will not only give your eggnog a “nutty” boost but is also on the light side for alcohol content.

Scotch – will give you an extravagant dance of bitter and sweet.

Spiced Rum (this is a given!)

Peppermint Schnapps – this is for those who are truly festive at heart! Go a head and sprinkle some crushed candy cane bits while you’re at it!

Whiskey – simply for those who prefer whiskey over bourbon.

Sherry – according to the Farmer’s Almanac, George Washington used sherry in his eggnog recipe.

While we have presented you with a bevy of cocktails to warm your insides this holiday season, we are trusting you to indulge responsibly. We want you to enjoy every moment but let’s agree not to go overboard.  If you happen to try any of these eggnog combinations, we want to hear all about it. So, please let us know all of the ways you have enjoyed your eggnog, whether alone or with loved ones, this season!
