Kindness: the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

Have you ever been in the drive thru at Tim Hortons and had the person in front of you pay for your order? Have you ever sat at a restaurant, enjoyed a meal, signaled for the wait staff to bring over your bill only to find that it had been mysteriously taken care of? Have you been the recipient of a beautiful gift basket from The Gift Designers? These are the gracious acts that maintain our faith in humanity, that help us to believe that people are inherently good.

You may not have the means to pay the tab for a stranger, but you can smile, you can offer a compliment to the person waiting in line next to you at the bank. In today’s meme culture you can share the meme that provokes a belly aching laugh with your colleagues. You can reach out to the family member that you have not spoken to in months. You can even give a smiling wave to the person who cut you off in traffic...…and mean it 😉

In whatever you do, remember that kindness makes as big of an impact as its opposite, perhaps even more so. You get to decide with which one you lead. Let’s make World Kindness Day 2021, one for the history books. Let it mark a day where smiling, laughter, love, giving, and random acts of kindness are more viral than COVID-19!
