According to the Canadian Cancer Society, approximately 1 in 8 Canadian women will hear the debilitating statement, “you have breast cancer”. Second only to lung cancer, this remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canada. What happens then? How would she tell her loved ones? How does she find the will and gumption to move forward?

Breast cancer will alter every aspect of a woman’s life. Yet still, there are stories of countless women who have faced the battle head on and made breast cancer rue the day it ever touched her. Spearheading campaigns of bravery and courage, these women have become the face of strength and tenacity, encouraging so many to continue in their fight and hold on to the hope of healing and wholeness, even to the bitter end. From these women we draw hope and are inspired to persevere through difficult times.

Here is our salute to all of the tremendously resilient women who have faced this horrific disease. You are beautiful and strong. You are powerful and we are inspired by you.
