Having a solid circle of friends is extremely important as you go through life, especially if you're going through life raising kids. Friendships can prove to be lifelines and often a form of rescue in your toughest times. Friendship can build you up, encourage you and offer some much-needed comfort on the days you feel like you’re failing. This is especially true for moms.

The “Mom Circle” is essential to surviving motherhood. We have often heard the saying ‘it takes a village”, and truer words have never been spoken. Friendships, in general, come in all shapes and sizes, but mom friends are particularly special and as such, it is so important that we are discerning of whom we allow to occupy that space. Within your mom circle you can find a wealth of wisdom, strategic parenting tactics, belly-aching laughter, quick tips and tricks for getting dinner on the table, the absolute best recipes, direction to the best finds at the grocery store, and peace for both your heart and mind. Mom friends are everything. Each one, contributes monumentally to another exchanging weakness for strength, sorrow for joy, and tears for laughter.  

Perhaps this Mother’s Day we can shift the narrative. Perhaps this year we can spin the traditional tone of mother’s day and celebrate mothers outside of our families.  Can we think about the moms in our circles who could truly use a pick me up? Think of your mom friends who are spread a little thin and perhaps offer your sentiments of encouragement with a token of love uniquely curated by one of the amazing mothers who design the beautiful gifts here at TGD. This year, let us think of the moms who may not be recognized by their families, or may have to work, or the moms who just need the support of their friends, maybe we can take the opportunity to look into our mommy circles and pay it forward to the MOMS.
