When was the last time you really threw down? Like completely rocked out to your favorite tunes? Do you remember how you felt? Were you overwhelmed with a sense of freedom? Our guess is yes and that it’s probably been a while. Today marks International Dance Day and we are here to remind you of all the ways dancing is good for you!

Dancing is your shortcut to better mental health! It literally helps to reduce stress and lowers your chance of developing a neurological disorder by improving the transmission of chemicals in your brain. It is also a definite mood booster. Dancing to the beat of your favorite song releases all of the happy hormones in your body.

We all know how important it is to move our bodies. Dancing fully takes care of that. The best part is that you are not really paying attention to the fact that your body is engaging in exercise. Dancing makes you stronger in all of the best ways!

As we head into the weekend, dance your way there. There are so many reasons, in this life, to be grumpy and stagnant. If you cannot find an opportunity to dance, make one. Dance in your bedroom. Dance in your garage. Dance in the kitchen while cooking dinner, but don’t burn anything. Dance in your living room. Get out the ghetto blaster and dance on your front lawn.
