“Comparing yourself with others is one of the highest forms of self-destruction.........” – Sarvesh Jain
We have all heard the age old saying, “comparison is a thief of joy”. Truer words have never been spoken especially in the case of comparing the working mom to the stay-at-home mom. Firstly, such a comparison should NEVER be made. Being a mother is hard work, period. The added responsibilities of managing “life” things, whether that looks like an entire household or a career, should never be analyzed on a scale of significance or meaning in the eyes of others. So we are here to quash the notion of whether or not working moms or stay-at-home moms work harder than one another. Women just work hard and should be appreciated. Period.
To be a stay-at-home mom requires an immense amount of patience and understanding. These moms are spending a minimum of 18 hours per week fully engaged in activities with their children and then another 23 in housework. To be a working mother also warrants a significant amount of patience and understanding. Working moms will make significant efforts to maintain balance and separate the personal from professional which can prove difficult at times. Once a mom, always a mom and the maternal instinct is not marked by location or circumstance. Mom is mom everywhere she goes.
Our bottom line here is that the comparison between the working mom and the stay-at-home mom is futile. All moms work tirelessly day in and day out regardless of whether it is from home or from the office. All moms should be valued and treasured for all that they do and all that they are. All moms deserve to be pampered and gifted. All moms would love anyone of our fabulous “Baskets for Her” which all pose the same sentiment: Mom, you are cherished!!
