It's Cranky Co-Worker Day!

There is no way any of us here at The Gift Designers are ever cranky 😉. Today marks National Cranky Co-Workers day and we know what you are thinking. Is there actually a day for that? The answer is yes, and the reasoning is twofold. First life is far too short and unpredictable to take everything so seriously and second, we need moments outside of the mundane that break routine, spark a little laughter, and cause us to relax just a little bit. May be you are the cranky co-worker. Here are some of our tips on how to avoid being the proverbial crank-pot amongst your co-workers.

 

Just admit it. Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling. The ability to acknowledge how you feel and allow yourself to “feel” it might actually decrease the anger and anxiety that you may be feeling.

Release it. Take a break and perhaps go for a walk.....or run. Scientifically speaking, physical activity has been proven to release serotonin which helps you calm down and feel better.

Shift your focus, especially if an immediate resolution cannot be achieved. Focus on what is working as opposed to what is not. Fix your gaze on the positives!

RELAX!!!! Ok ok ok, this is easier said than done but at least try. Sit up tall, drop your shoulders, and take a full, deep breath.

Yes, this is a silly day to celebrate but you know what, every now and again we need to chill out. As working professionals we are prone to intensity, constantly executing tasks, and striving for excellence. Have some fun in the breakroom with your co-workers and laugh at how cranky you all can truly be at any given moment.
