Moms! We love our kids right? Despite this absolute fact, do we feel at times that we can hardly hear our own thoughts? It may just be some of us, but from the moment they open their gorgeous little eyes, to the final moments of the evening when they are fighting to keep eyes open, our children do not leave much room to breathe. Days can feel unending, with barely enough time to get things done. It is in these moments that we want our moms to be mindful that it is completely necessary for them to have moments alone. Whenever you can, wherever you can, take time out for yourself. Here are some reasons why!

Remember Who You Are. Who we are can often get lost in translation as we completely embody the role of being “mom”. We live for our kids and much of our identities can become rooted in motherhood. It is so important to consider who you are outside of being mom. All the characteristics of that woman are what makes you truly phenomenal!

Focus and Realign. Taking time to yourself will help bring the day into focus as opposed to you flying by the seat of your pants. You will find that you will instantly become more productive with an improved ability to concentrate.

Helps Relationship. Mom you cannot pour into others, whether friends, spouses, family member, and especially your children, if your cup is empty. Time out allows for a refresh!

Teach Your Children Balanced Independence. Some of our kids, not all but definitely some, do not want to leave mommy’s side which won’t help them at all in the future and may foster unhealthy relational patterns. We don’t want that so the boundaries that you set for yourself today, will establish the healthy boundaries that they will set for themselves in the future.
