One Kind Deed!

From time to time we can get an inclination that someone within close proximity of our being is in need of help or a pick me up. At times, the need presents itself as obvious while at others, it is much more subtle and needs to be discovered. The human spirit is remarkably intuitive and we continue to be encouraged and uplifted by stories of wonderful people paying it forward, being kind, and helping others. One of the most beautiful aspects of working at The Gift Designers is that we get to witness and be a part of your generosity. Although we don’t always get to hear the stories behind the gifts given and the impact they create, we often imagine what that must be like for both the givers and their recipients. We love stories and here is a short one for you to enjoy!

“One day this past year, I had left home to drop my daughter off at school which was not far. My car made a very strange noise as I pulled out of our parking spot. Knowing absolutely nothing about cars, I drove my daughter to school in a mild panic. Once she was safely through the doors, I pulled to the end of the parking lot, popped my hood, and took out my manual. A lovely gentleman playing with his joyful baby boy approached me and asked if I needed help. I thanked him for his kindness and told him about the funny noise. He then told me that his father was a mechanic and that he knew a thing or two, so he would be happy to take a look. To make a long story short it was determined that my car was actually just REALLY low on oil. He cautioned me not to drive without at least topping it up and graciously left to get me oil from Canadian Tire. He brought back a very large container of engine oil for my car, filled what needed to be filled and told me to keep the rest just in case. When I asked if I could repay him he simply said no and told me to drive safely. My heart was astounded and immensely grateful! There are still many wonderful, kindhearted people in this world, and I was blessed to encounter one of them”.

In sharing this story, we at The Gift Designers hope that you too are inspired to share stories of kind hearted people making our world a better place. We are pleased to introduce #gogiverstories this year, which is a platform for our community of #gogivers to share heart warming stories of kindness, love, thoughtfulness, and humanity. Share with us as we endeavour to truly celebrate fostering relationships in 2023!
