“Motherhood is the exquisite inconvenience of being another person’s everything.”

So often we talk about Moms who do it all! They are Superheros in their homes as they tackle the endless tasks of life. Mom Guilt is real though! There’s a lot of pressure to do it all and to be perfect along the way!
I think Moms can set the bar impossibly high for themselves and believe that success means:
-
To be perfect
-
To be like another Mom (in appearance or behaviour)
-
To abandon boundaries
-
To do it all without help
-
That everybody is watching your efforts and judging
Let go of that Mom Guilt and hear a bit about what kids are wanting:
-
Affection – love, praise, and cuddles
-
A good “good-night” - quality time at bedtime with a song, story, conversation or being tucked in
-
Time to be silly
-
Time to relax
-
Time together and plans to look forward to
Keep it simple! Remember that your kids love you and that your love, support and time is priceless. Your kids are looking for connection and security not perfection.
This quote sums it up nicely: "My Mom is my hero. She’s beautiful and kind. We love each other”.
