There is nothing quite like a father’s love. It is distinct in nature and worthy of true appreciation. Although the persona of Dad can be strict and disciplined, Dad is also fun and as you grow, he becomes the absolute funniest guy on the block. Most importantly dad is there to pick you up and help you shake off a bruise from a fall. Dad is there to scare off anyone who would dare attempt to intimidate or frighten his baby, and yes, no matter how old you are, you eternally will be Daddy’s boy or Daddy’s girl! There are so many reasons why Dad needs to be appreciated and we have some great ideas to inspire you!

Try the things that dad likes. There a times when the relentless efforts of Dad can get lost in the mighty, all encompassing, super-hero shadow that is Mom. Let’s be clear, Mom is absolutely extraordinary but, so is Dad. There are a plethora of options available to gift and appreciate mom in every way humanly possible, which includes days off with no housework, spa days, manicures, pedicures, flowers, and the works. We can sometimes find that dad is a bit trickier, and he doesn’t necessarily need the same things as mom. Dad might need a nap from time to time but what fills his soul is definitely different and most often times he would love to do that with you. So take a bit of interest in the things that he enjoys and offer to join him.

Help him to explore and experience the things that he likes in new and exciting ways. Perhaps he is a golfer and so maybe it would be great to take him out on a new course that he has never played on. Maybe Dad is a good, old-fashioned meat and potatoes kind of guy. Consider taking him to the newest steakhouse for good ribeye. Dad could also be a quiet soul and may enjoy more exclusive activities with you at home. This month is a great opportunity to sit out on the porch or patio with coffee, a brew, wine, scotch, or whisky and enjoy each other’s company.
