Time spent with dad can be so much fun because well, dad is just the best. There are times though, when things might get out of hand, and a few blunders may occur. Here are a few “don’t tell your mom!” moments to give you a giggle and round out our celebration of Fathers this month!

Dad’s Admission

“I pushed my 3-year-old too high on a swing and he flew off about 8ft from the ground, did a full flip and landed face first in the mulch. He didn’t get hurt but definitely ate it and there were some not so subtle remarks about what I did to him. I can still picture him in slow motion flipping through the air!”

“the time I let 3 kids stab a big cardboard box with screwdrivers. It got out of control almost immediately with violent stabs near all their hands. Whoops! I apologized for that one for a while!”

From the Kids

“some bank guy called my dad the other day and asked if he needs a loan. My dad said yes. The guy asked how much, and he replied, ‘the sky is the limit!’ and giggled like a little kid”.

“One time, dad bought some new shoes, and instead of throwing the old ones out like a normal person, he decided to burn them. So he threw them into our wood stove and lit them on fire. Enough said here”.

“Dad was sitting in my room having a conversation with me when he reached for my water bottle, which was sitting on my desk, and took a big swig..........of vodka”.

“Sometimes mom would go visit her mother for a week by herself. When she left my dad would take us ‘grocery shopping’ and we would live off of whatever my dad and brother picked out for the week. I remember surviving on liverwurst and gummy bears!”

“ when I was 12 my mother obsessed over move rating. PG-13 was absolutely out of the question for me. One day my father and I went to see a movie and the options were garbage, until he saw some movie called Die Hard. We look at the poster and then looked at one another. ‘I won’t tell your mother if you don’t’. Best trip to the movies EVER!”

“Dad, I have a secret, You’re the best parent........please don’t tell mom!” 😉
